The Fastest, Most Tricked-Out Obed GVR We've Seen (So Far)
The GVR gravel bike was easily our most exciting bike launch of the year. For me, finally getting my GVR represented a turning point in my season, and when I did my first ride, I immediately knew I had an absolute weapon of a bike. Almost immediately, I scored one of my best race results ever at Gravel Worlds in Lincoln, Nebraska.
I'm not the only rider on the GVR hype train. Our team has already helped countless customers order their own GVRs, and at this year's SBT GRVL, we saw some excellent performances from GVR riders. I've come across some pretty cool GVR builds so far, but I think this custom build by Obed's Sam Voigt is the most stunning I've seen... so far, at least!

Sam's Ultimate Gravel Race Bike
“This build was so enticing, I sold my titanium forever bike!” Sam said.
As a bike geek, Sam certainly has an eye for the finer things when it comes to bike builds. When Obed launched the GVR, he saw the stunning Malachite Green Metallic paint of our media bike and knew he had to have it. This is one of the new custom paint colors that Obed launched this year, and in person, especially under direct sunlight, it is one of the most captivating bike colors I have ever seen.
Sam, however, wasn't satisfied with just getting his frame and fork in this new color. He wanted the pro treatment, so he requested our team paint his one-piece carbon cockpit and headset spacers to match. This is a special option Obed offers on the Studio NEXT RVR, so our paint team is well-versed in color-matching carbon cockpits. In my opinion, it elevates the GVR to a whole new level, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking to ask for it on my own bike.
One of the things Obed prides itself on is building bikes exactly how our customers want them. If that means custom paint, well, our team is capable of that, as long as you have the budget and patience for it (super custom requests take money and time!). Sam didn't stop his customization with paint. The bars themselves were custom-ordered ENVE SES AR bars that he chose to match his ultra-new and ultra-wide ENVE G SES 4.5 Pro wheels. He also wanted a bit more gear range to conquer steep and technical climbs, so he asked for his bike to be built with a SRAM AXS "Mullet," combining the RED AXS road shifters and crankset with the XX SL Transmission mountain bike rear derailleur and cassette, offering a massive 10-52t range.

We'll be seeing Sam and his bike at gravel events this year and next. I'll have to watch my back, because this build is fast as heck, and Sam is definitely going to be breathing down my neck!
