OBED PREFORMANCE GRAVEL

GVR

Adventure in it's fastest form

Gravel is evolving at breakneck speeds, and at the pointy end, it’s faster, lighter, and more capable than ever. This is where The GVR is built to do battle. With our most potent combination of tire clearance, aerodynamics, and low weight, it represents a new pinnacle of gravel performance.

The Gravel Trinity

Tires, aerodynamics, and weight — focusing on these performance factors is how we give riders an advantage on any course over any terrain. Whether you're a racer or an adventurer, the GVR is designed to get you to the finish line faster.

Designed for Tire Geeks

Tires are everything. The GVR is designed to take advantage of the enhanced speed, comfort, and puncture protection of super-wide gravel and MTB tires. Easily fit massive 56mm or 2.2” tires in the rear and even larger tires in the front.

Tuned for Telepathic Handling

Speed requires balance. The GVR is designed for high-speed confidence with the stability and manners to plow faster through the roughest terrain and rail loose corners, plus enough agility to make instant line-changes when your heart rate is pinned.

Made to Push Every Limit

Aero frame shapes cheat the wind for more efficiency. Lower weight makes mountains into molehills. Gravel suspension forks let shredders send it harder. Extra mounts increase carrying capacity for epic endurance races and all-day adventures.

Put to the test at Transcordilleras

The GVR has already proven itself at Transcordilleras, a brutal 8-day gravel stage race across the Colombian Andes. In a powerful debut, Austin Sullivan piloted his GVR to a podium on the final stage — the first of many.

“This bike is exactly what I’ve been looking for: nimble and responsive, with a bulldozer-like attitude. This bike begs for more — more speed, more chunk, more watts. I have yet to find a speed limit on it.

To mount your OBED bike to a direct drive stationary trainer, follow these steps:

1. Shift into the bike's hardest gear

2. Remove the rear thru axle

3. Remove the rear wheel

4. Place the frame onto the direct drive trainer, ensuring the chain falls onto the cassette and the rear axle dropouts are aligned with the trainer hub end caps.

5. Reinstall the rear thru-axle and tighten.

Notes:

We recommend shifting into the hardest gear before removing the rear wheel to make it easier to remove the rear wheel and position your bike for installation on the trainer.

Mounting a bike to a direct drive trainer is very similar to installing a rear wheel. You may need to swing the rear derailleur back to direct the chain onto the cassette cogs. If you have a rear derailleur with an adjustable clutch, turn the clutch off to be able to articulate the rear derailleur.

Ensure the rear axle dropouts of the frame are aligned with the endcaps on the trainer, and that the chain is properly routed before reinstalling the rear axle and using your direct drive to prevent damage.

Ensure the rear cassette on your direct drive trainer is compatible with your bike's drivetrain to prevent damage. (E.g., you must use a 12-speed Shimano cassette with a 12-speed Shimano drivetrain and a 12-speed SRAM cassette with 12-speed SRAM drivetrains.)

If you're on the border of two sizes, the right size may depend on certain body measurements and your riding style. Feel free to contact us at any time regarding sizing questions - our product specialists are experienced with finding riders the right fit by cross-referencing your information with our fit database.

If you're not transferring measurements from a similar bike, to get completely "dialed in" for maximum performance, we recommend you see a reputable professional bike fitter that can fit you to your new bike.

Custom requests can be submitted through the “Component Requests” box in our bike builder, or you can contact us at any time to inquire about custom requests. A member of our team will reach out for additional information. All custom requests are subject to availability, and additional charges may apply.

The maximum recommended load of 3 kg (6.6 lbs) per leg when attaching items to the accessory mounts on the OBED Rigid Carbon Gravel Fork with Accessory Mounts

The GVR is our lightweight gravel race bike, built for riders seeking a competitive advantage for high-performance riding. It uses a lightweight frame with aero shaping and geometry tuned for both agility and control, making it perfect for high-speed endurance gravel riding and racing.

The GVR has been fully redesigned from the ground up for 2026. This second-generation model improves on the original with several key updates:

  • Increased frame tire clearance from 49mm to 56mm
  • Reduced frame weight by ~150 grams (886g raw / 931g painted, excluding hardware)
  • Aerodynamic frame shaping with a truncated aero downtube
  • Redesigned rigid fork with a wider stance and 61mm tire clearance
  • Suspension-corrected geometry compatible with current gravel suspension forks
  • Revised geometry with longer reach, slacker head angle, and lower BB for increased stability
  • Revised fork rake for increased trail to improve high-speed handling
  • Increase frame mounting locations for additional bottles and gear
  • Fully-integrated cable routing
  • UDH rear dropout
  • T47 threaded bottom bracket
  • New paint colors and schemes

The GVR frame fits tires up to 700c x 56mm* wide (equivalent to a 2.2" MTB tire) in the rear triangle with a 1x drivetrain. Clearance is limited to 700c x 49mm* with a 2x drivetrain, due to clearance limitations of specific electronic front derailleurs.

The GVR's redesigned Gravel Race Fork fits tires up to 700c x 61mm* (equivalent to a 2.4" MTB tire).

*Tire clearance will vary depending on your specific tires and wheels.

Yes. The GVR uses suspension-corrected geometry, and the rigid Gravel Race Fork utilizes a taller axle-to-crown length. Riders can choose to use popular 30-40mm travel gravel suspension forks from Cane Creek, DT Swiss, Fox, and RockShox without significantly altering the geometry or handling.

Yes. The GVR comes with tubeless-ready wheels and tires and is shipped set up tubeless with sealant from the factory.

1x chainring max is 44t (@ 47.5mm chainline)
2x chainring max is 48/31t (@ 47mm chainline)

Since it is designed for racing, the GVR frame does not have built-in rack or fender mounts. We suggest riders interested in rack and fender mounts, or more carrying capacity, consider the adventure-oriented Obed MMR

Yes! The GVR is also fast and efficient on the road. If you choose to install road tires on your GVR, we recommend using tires at least 700c x 38mm wide to minimize the effect smaller tires will have on the geometry.
